Dear Clients and Friends,
We want to take this time to thank all the participants and sponsors who joined us for the memorable tenth edition of the Hanse Cup Adriatic in Croatia, held from May 06 to May 10, 2023!
Organized by the official dealer of Hanse Yachts, Croatia Yachting and Sailing Club Zenta, Hanse Cup Adriatic is held to promote Hanse sailboats known for their fast-cruising and easy sailing, allowing for the ultimate sailing experience. But that’s not all – Hanse Cup Adriatic is held to promote the unparalleled beauties of Central and North Dalmatia as one of Europe’s best sailing destinations.
We are thrilled to share our Adriatic gems with all participants in each new edition, especially this one which is 10th edition.
Hanse Cup Adriatic welcomed all Hanse Yachts owners and fans who could explore Hanse sailboats within the Croatia Yachting fleet. This regatta was made possible by our PLATINUM sponsors UNIQA insurance, golden ones OTP leasing and ACI Club, and our Prize sponsors North Sails and the official wine of the regatta- Baraka Winery, which provided the best local wine as a treat for all winners.
Hanse Cup Adriatic kicked off at Marina Kaštela this year with 23 crews from over 10 countries and more than 140 participants. Teams sailed for three days in unbeatable weather conditions with plenty of sun, ideal May temperatures, and just the right wind. Competitors showcased their sailing skills during the three legs of the regatta, while culinary specialties and standout DJ and band entertainment highlighted the evenings. The best restaurants in the Central and North Dalmatia were also in the spotlight, including Karmelski dvori in Tribunj, Yacht club in D-resort in Šibenik, and Martinis-Marchi in Maslinica on the island of Šolta. Participants enjoyed tasty local meals in a relaxed atmosphere, while an awards ceremony crowned the final evening.
The first leg of the regatta sailed from Kaštela to Tribunj Island, the second from Tribunj to Šibenik, and the third from Šibenik to Maslinica. A nearly complete range of Hanse Yachts, from Hanse 388 to Hanse 588, featured in this regatta, divided into four divisions. We even organized a “Baraka dinghy race” in which crews rowed to a case of beer, with the Purple rain crew receiving a magnum bottle of one of the finest Baraka winery for their victory!
A handicap was taken into account to determine the overall winners. The German “Auszeit” crew of the Hanse 588 – Hot Stuff, with Daniel Korth as the skipper, took first place overall. Nausica II sailing team was second with the Hanse 588, while the Allan Phyland crew from Austria took third place with the Hanse 458– One life. Finally, “The Heaviest Anchor Award” went to the Hanse 388 crew – Sweet summer!
